Makeup is my "Happy Fuel". Putting on makeup in the morning and taking off my makeup when I get home have to be some of my favourite moments of the day. When I am feeling stressed or defeated, beauty blogs and videos can always perk my day up. Not to mention it always give me something to look forward to as I add new things onto my "Things-to-check-out-the-next-time-I-go-shopping List".
Featured below are some products that I love and will be very sad without, as well as some that just make my beauty routine that much more delightful.
P/s. I did not feature every product category because
this post will be never-ending if I did that. I think everyone who loves beauty products have one or a few types of beauty items that they are especially obsessed with. Here are some makeup treats that I can't get enough of!!
MY UTMOST LOVE: FOUNDATION & PALETTE
I have enough foundations and makeup palettes to last me for.. well, let's just say a very long time. Yet, every time I walk into makeup store, I make a beeline for them and more often than not, I walk out with something new. My justification? Foundation is an essential that I NEED everyday. Makeup palettes are not only pretty to look at but they are also super practical because all the colours that you can possibly need are all in the same place (who has time to dig through single shadows to put together a look when they get ready in the morning? Definitely not me).

Beauty Treats (Skincare, Beauty Tools, Fragrance) | January 2014
Hi everyone. This is my first blog post in 2014 and I have decided to do something different.
I wanted to do this post at the end of December when I was on holiday in Bali. I even brought my laptop and my notes with me but long story short: between relaxing by the pool reading a book, exploring the streets of Kuta and Seminyak and being sick (yeap… I got a stomach flu during the trip), the post didn't happen.
And now we are 2 weeks into 2014??!
Anyways, I wanted to do this post to celebrate the new year. To me, a new year is a magical moment. If the previous year was not so good, you can close that chapter in your life and look forward to the chances for a better year. If your previous year was awesome, you can start the year with great hope and motivation to strive for more in the year to come. If you celebrate Lunar New Year, hopefully you will find my ideas helpful to prep for the festivities and celebrations to come.
As the typical girly girl that I am, no matter what I am doing, I have to look good doing it. That is why I have put together some ideas of beauty products that you can add to your beauty routine so that you can pretty yourself up while you take on the world. (*I am not a beauty expert but I am definitely an enthusiast*)
Here we go!
SKINCARE
Skincare is a very tricky thing to recommend because everyone's skin is different. The items that I have included should generally suit most skin types but I am more so recommending the product type instead of the specific item.

*Sponsored* Circle Lens | EOS V-Check 2 Tone Brown Review
I think everyone has that one (or a few) things that they can never have too many of. Be it shoes, t-shirts, makeup, handbags, mugs, candles, soft toys… The list can go on and on. One of the things that I can never have too many of are brown circle lenses.
In my circle-lens-wearing time, I have tried many different styles and sizes of circles lenses. Anything from the super-natural-barely-noticeable to the doll-like-opaque-color-changing ones. From that, I have came to know one thing: brown and grey lenses are ones that suit me best.
So, when loveshoppingholics contacted me and asked if I would like to try some circle lenses from them, I obviously said yes.
And the lenses that I got are the:
EOS V-CHECK 2 TONE BROWN
Kinda boring. I know. But I know lenses like these are what I will get a lot of wear out of.
P/s. I have to commend loveshoppingholics for their very fast shipping. The package got to me a mere few days after they contacted me *thumbs up*

Clinique Chubby Stick Intense Review | 01 Curviest Caramel & 04 Heftiest Hibiscus
Jumbo crayon/ pencil type lip products seem to be everywhere at the moment. I recently picked up a few new ones to try "for review purposes" and the first ones in the lineup are the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense.
I reviewed the regular Clinique Chubby Sticks a while ago (Clinique Chubby Stick Review) and I quite like those. However, I am LOVING the Clinique Chubby Stick Intense.
The Clinique Chubby Stick Intense is available in 8 colors:

Surprise surprise. After swatching all 10 colors at the Clinique counter and after a very very long deliberation, I bought the nude-ish color (01 Curviest Caramel) and the orangey color (04 Heftiest Hibiscus).

Majolica Majorca | 10th Anniversary Limited Edition Little Humming Book 1 Review
Majolica Majorca: A brand that I love for their amazing mascaras that can hold a curl on my stick-straight-curl-defying lashes as well being very smudge resistant on my oily mono lids. I had no idea that this brand has been in existence for 10 years until I stumbled upon the Little Humming Book 1 palette when I was wandering idly in a pharmacy/ drugstore.
The Little Humming Book 1 is the first of several limited edition palettes that were released in commemoration of the 10th anniversary of the brand. Visit the official Majolica Majorca website if you want to find out more~

Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm Review | #01 Pink Beige & #02 Natural Beige
Don't we all want baby skin? I know I do.
As a result, I was immediately drawn to the Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm in the store when I walked past it. Seriously, "aura", "baby" and "glow"? Etude House sure knew which keywords to include in a product name to make it attractive. I wasn't sure if I want a "glowy" product since I have very oily skin but the sales assistant assured me that it wouldn't make my skin look too shiny or oily, just very natural and youthful looking with a healthy glow.
The next thing I know, I was photographing the Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm in my room.

This product is available in 3 colour selection: #1 Pink Beige, #2 Natural Beige and #3 Sand Beige.
I first purchased #1 Pink Beige as the sales assistant recommended it but it turned out to be too light for me. So I went back and purchased #2 Natural Beige as well.

Canmake Cream Cheek Review | Clear Series CL01, CL02, CL03 & CL04
Hi everyone. Please take a moment to have a look at these little pots of gorgeousness.
These Canmake Cream Cheek Cream Blushers are very well known in the Asian beauty-sphere for it's great pigmentation, texture as well as wallet friendly price tag (In Japan. If you are purchasing it in most other places, chances are you will be ripped off, like I was).
I was recently on a hunt for these blushers because I wanted to review more Asian beauty products in addition to the seasonal luxury brands makeup releases that I tend to do most of. So I went out for a beauty product shopping spree & got a few things that I thought might be of interest to you guys. Needless to say I bought a ton of blushers.
From what I know, 13 colours were released in the original (cream) formula but quite a few got discontinued. The Canmake Cream Cheek in the Clear formula is a relatively new release to the line with 4 colours in the series:

Circle Lens | Geo Mari Gold Gray Review
I love circle lenses. To me, circle lenses and makeup go hand in hand and I don't think I can ever live (happily [yes, putting in lenses and putting on makeup makes me happy]) without either of these in my life.
I think I started wearing circle lenses about the same time that I started wearing makeup, which is when I was around 17 years old if I remember correctly. I started off by wearing daily disposable ones but that became way too expensive in the long run. I then started exploring other options and I have since tried many 6-month or yearly lenses.
I prefer circle lenses that are towards the natural end of the spectrum. I like ones that look natural but still give subtle enlargement and definition. Also, I am not too fond of lenses that make me look like this--> O.O
I recently tried out the Geo Mari Gold Gray (or grey, my Mac laptop doesn't like it when I type grey even though I already specify that I use Australian spelling). IT IS PERFECT!!

Chanel L'ete Papillon de Chanel Collection for Summer 2013 | Inimitable Waterproof Mascara (47), Stylo Eyeshadow (47 & 57), Rouge Coco Shine (467) & Le Vernis Nail Colour (647, 657 & 667) Review
With fall/autumn items slowly making its way into stores, I can't help but to admit that summer (for those in the Northern Hemisphere) is coming to an end. Although I live in a tropical country which means it's summer all year round, I too am excited for the arrival of summer because it means that the clothes and makeup are designed to be suited for the hotter climates. A very superficial reason I know but I am sure if you are reading a beauty blog, you will most likely understand.
Although I tend to prefer summer makeup releases, I was not particularly drawn to many summer collections released this year. I have blogged about pieces from the Dior Bird of Paradise Collection (LINK) and 2 items from YSL summer 2013 Collection (LINK). After this post, I will review the Shu Uemura Eyeconic Collection for Summer 2013 and that will be the end of my Summer 2013 makeup collections coverage.
Chit chat done. Let's take a look at Chanel L'ete Papillon de Chanel Collection for Summer 2013.

YSL Summer 2013 Collection | Marrakesh Sunset Palette & Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder in 30 Terre Halee Review
Hi everyone. Have you ever made an impulse purchase just because something got sold out very quickly/ got so hyped up? I did exactly that when I saw the YSL Marrakesh Sunset Palette a while back when I went to Singapore for a meeting. I knew that this palette was sold out on the US website so when the SA brought the palette out saying it JUST came in, I had to get it right?
I also picked up the Terre Saharienne Bronzing Power in 30 Terre Halee because the SA recommended this particular shade for contouring. You should note that my rationality was partially knocked out of me due to makeup-induced excitement since I had so much fun swatching all the Glossy Stains and gorgeous YSL lipsticks.
So the gist of all this faff is, I bought the Marrakesh Sunset Palette & the Terre Saharienne Bronzing Powder in 30 Terre Halee, which I will review for you now.

Dior Bird of Paradise Collection for Summer 2013 Review
Hi everyone. If you could see me right now, you will probably think that a zombie has taken over my blog to write you this post. Reason being, I have been sick for over a week and the haze is NOT helping. Although I might not be able to breathe through my nose, take a deep breath or stop coughing (plus I sound like a man), I cannot neglect the blog any longer.
Now, to help you get the zombie image out of your head, let's talk about something a lot more delightful: Dior Bird of Paradise Collection for Summer 2013.

To be honest, I haven't been overly excited about the Summer 2013 releases and the Dior Bird of Paradise Collection for Summer 2013 was the first one that caught my attention since I love peacocky colours (my hair is in fact ombre in a peacock inspired color at the moment!).

Hi everyone. I am currently on a brush kick and I have spent many hours exploring beauty blog-land in order for me to scout for some new candidates to add to my brushes collection.

Shu Uemura OB Collection for Spring 2013 Review
Hi everyone. Liz "blog sloth" Chewy signing in.
Today, I am going to review the Shu Uemura OB Collection for Spring 2013.
Today, I am going to review the Shu Uemura OB Collection for Spring 2013.
"Inspired by Japanese artist ob and the young creators of her generation comes a limited-edition collection that celebrates the rise of a new era in art. in-between reality and a dream beckons you into ob’s creative universe, a world that appears normal at first sight but is filled with fantasy and delight; a world that showcases the emerging vision of a generation of creators who came of age in a radical new digital world. Discover this magical landscape and create a new you – someone you’ve never imagined yourself to be – with a line-up of gorgeous shu uemura products intricately wrapped in the beauty of spring and the sensitivity of a new generation."
Shu Uemura's collaboration collections always hit my weak spot, mainly because of the unique-once-off-gorgeous-and-super-cute-limited-edition packaging. Did I mention the work-of-the-art false eyelashes??

Chanel Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux Makeup Collection Review
Hi everyone. It's been a while since I last posted something hasn't it?
The truth is, the past month has been a whirlwind of madness on a personal level as well as on a larger scale (regarding Malaysia's 13th general election). Lots of unresolved stress and negativities lingered in my mind and as a result, it just didn't feel quite right for me to be sitting around and talking about makeup.
However, the world keep spinning, life goes on and I have a backlog of spring collections to review. First up, Chanel Spring 2013 Printemps Precieux Collection.
There are only several limited edition items in this collection so most of the items featured in this review should still be available for purchase.

Les Merveilleuses by Ladurée Spring Collection 2013 | Mini Face Color Trio Review
Desserts (or macarons to be more precise) and makeup are some of the things that I truly love. As a result, I have always had a very strong affection towards Les Merveilleuses by Ladurée makeup.
I have only tried their limited edition Cream Cheek Base released in Autumn 2012 (my review HERE) but I have always longed for more.
When I saw the promo images and product lineup for their Spring 2013 collection, I went into makeup ninja mode and hunted the internet obsessively for a way to get my hands on some of the products. (For those of you who don't know, the Les Merveilleuses by Ladurée makeup line is only available in Japan).
After dealing with parcel forwarding services, online payment verification, exorbitantly marked up prices and additional shipping costs, I got my hands on these:

250~300ish Followers Giveaway
Hi everyone. It's GIVEAWAY TIME~~~~ I have reached 250 followers on GFC some months ago and a giveaway has always been on the agenda. However, I have always been sidetracked and hence the giveaway is only happening now -.-
One good thing that accompanies a delayed giveaway is that I had so much more time to gather the prizes! I hope the goodies that I have accumulated over this time will make up for the lateness.
Before I get into the details of this giveaway, I have some admin announcements:
If you have noticed/if you are following me on either facebook or twitter, then you will know that my blog now has a custom URL which is [www.lizchewy.com]
The new URL also means that I need to claim it again on Bloglovin'. At the moment, you will still get updates from my blog if you are following me on Bloglovin' via [chewylove.blogspot.com]. However, since I might create a website to house my blog in the future, I do recommend you to follow me on Bloglovin' via [www.lizchewy.com]; especially with the uncertain future of GFC.
Follow www.lizchewy.com on Bloglovin
Also, I have changed the layout of my blog slightly because I think it will make browsing easier for my readers. Instead of loading one full post, it now loads summaries of 6 blog posts on each page. Let me know what you guys think~
Before this post becomes an essay, here's the prizes for this giveaway.

Products I've Used Up | April 2013
I thought it will be an interesting read if I showcase some products that I have used up along with some mini reviews as well as mentioning whether or not I will repurchase them.
Some of the products have a tiny bit left when I took the photos but all of them are gone by the time I am typing this post. The reason for that is that I want to show you the texture or look of the product. Also, it's very very difficult for me to keep a product that is completely empty because I always feel a strong urge to throw something out once I've used them up (It's not OCD is it??).
Without further ado, let's have a look at the products that I have used up in the past month or so.

MAC Archie's Girls Collection Review
MAC Archie's Girls. This collection has been out for so long in certain parts of the world that I think nearly everyone in Beauty-blogland would have read if not reviewed items from this collection.
I have not kept up with MAC collections for a long time because the sheer amount of collections that MAC keeps pumping out makes it absolutely impossible (and somewhat uninteresting). I think it was around this time last year that I reviewed a MAC collection (It was a review on the In Extra Dimension & Tres Cheek Collection- LINK).
The MAC Archie's Girls Collection is a colossal one with lipsticks, lipglasses, eyeliners, pigments, eyeshadow palette, mascara, blush, face powder and nail lacquers inspired by the two main female characters in Archie's Comic- Betty and Veronica. There's also accessories in the form of brush kit, coin purse, mirror, makeup bag and a tote.

Skinfood | Black Egg Pore Primer, Black Egg Pore Foundation & Black Egg Pore Finish Powder Review
Hi everyone! What is your number 1 skin concern? For me, it's definitely my chronically oily skin and my visible-even-on-low-res-camera enlarged pores. I have tried various skin care products that CLAIM to help refine and minimise pores but to be honest, I think those products are more of a psychological thing because I have not found any that actually works.
As a result of my skin type/condition, I naturally gravitate towards pore covering/ mattifying base makeup and avoid anything that has the word luminous or glow in its name like the plague.
One day, when I was browsing in my local Skinfood store, I stumbled across these:
A range of products that is targeted to conceal enlarged pores and give you boiled egg like smooth skin (plus with super cute food-like packaging)? These went straight into my shopping basket.
