New Blog Title and Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips (230 Skinny Jeans) Review

Hi everyone. You might have noticed that I have a new header image and blog title. I have been thinking about changing my blog title for a while because although I love the "live, laugh, love" quote, it is nonetheless very common and I have stumbled upon several blogs with a similar title. So, after much thought, I have decided on renaming my blog Every Little Thing. The reason is simple: my blog is just my way of sharing every little thing in my life with you guys!

Hope you guys will like it as well as my new header image (yeah, you can see that my computer skills did not improve a single bit since I did my previous header). However, some form of similarity is not necessarily a bad thing right?

Anyways, the main focus of this blog post is the Sally Hansen Salon Effects Real Nail Polish Strips review (could the name be any longer???).

I have been wanting to try these out for the longest time because I am just not patient enough to wait for regular polishes to completely dry, thus they always smudge or I will get imprints on them. This product appeals to me so much because there is no drying time required, pop it on and you are good to go. Sounds like a dream no?

I purchased this product in two colours: 230 Skinny Jeans (pictured right) and 280 Blue Ice (pictured left).

It's always good to see that instructions can be summarized into 3 simple steps.

Here is what comes in the box. Instruction pamphlet, a little nail buffer/ emery board, mini cuticle pusher and 16 nail polish strips (8 in each packet).

Instructions. Literally peel it off, stick it on and file off the tips. It's simple enough but I did go through 2 failed strips before slowly getting the hang of it.

Here is what it looks like on (The design on my nails is 230 Skinny Jeans). Took me about 15 minutes to do both hands, and that included time taken to take photos and all.

My thoughts:
I like this product. Overall I think it's really easy and convenient to use (I think this product will be perfect for traveling!). Application is quick and even though you have to avoid wetting it for some time after application, drying time is still substantially shorter than regular polishes. There is also a diverse range of colours and designs (from plain colours to sparkles to prints). If you are not very good at painting your nails or you want to achieve nail arts effect at home, this product will be a very good choice. Regular nail polishes also tend to make my nails very yellow after removing them but in comparison my nails were a lot less yellow after removing these strips.

However, even though this retails for around $10 in the states, it cost me RM45.90 each (approximately $15). Not to mention that a manicure in nail salons in this part of the world cost about the same price. In addition, it only comes with 16 strips and since all the strips are of different sizes, the leftover strips probably are not going to fit your nails well. The wear is decent, it claims to stay on your nails for 10 days bit tip wear started to show about 2 days in and they started to chip around the day 5 mark. I kept them on for about 12 days but by that time chipping was pretty bad. This product can be removed using regular nail polish remover but it is somewhat messier than regular nail polishes (regular nail polishes kinda melt but this one turns into little flecks and will get everywhere).

I probably will not repurchase this product anytime soon mainly because of the price. However, if I am lazy or do not have loads of time to apply nail polish as well as if I want to change up my nails when I am traveling, I will definitely keep this product in mind.

p/s. I apologize for the many out of focus photos in this post. Lighting was bad and I didn't notice at the time >-< Sorry!
