Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour Review

Hi everyone. I am very excited about what I am going to share with you today!! This product is no doubt one of the best items that I have discovered in recent times. And it is.....
THE LAURA MERCIER CAVIAR STICK EYE COLOUR!!

I have very oily lids and no eye pencil-type product, not even the renowned Urban Decay 24/7 glide on eye pencil or the Makeup Forever Aqua Eyes, can last on my eyelids without smudging. The Bobbi Brown Long Wear Eye Pencil stays on pretty well, but I still need to set it with powder and it will eventually smudge too.

I have long since given up on the hope that I can find a pencil/ stick shadow product that can withstand the oiliness of my lids, until I saw a youtuber named Raeview raved about these Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour. I always trust her recommendations, so I went and bought 3 shades to try out and I immediately fell in love with it. This product last on my eyelids on its own and it will only smudge a teeny tiny bit at the end of the day. If I set it with powder, it will stay on and look pretty much perfect for hours and hours.

I cannot be happier and more in love with these, to the point that I have collected all but one shade in the permanent colour range. (The only permanent colour that I don't have is Amethyst)
The colours I have are Cocoa, Jungle, Khaki, Plum, Steel, Sapphire and Smoke.

The Laura Mercier Caviar Stick Eye Colour is more like a shadow pencil since the diameter of the tip is quite big, but it can of course be used as an eyeliner.
This product is a twist-up style pencil.

From left: Cocoa (brown), Jungle (blackened green), Khaki (I don't think the colour is very khaki like since there's very little green tone in it. Looks more like a cool tone brown), Plum (blackened plum colour), Steel (metallic finish silver), Sapphire (metallic electric blue) and Smoke (black).

Since I have monolids, I typically apply my eyeliner quite thickly. What I normally do with the Caviar Stick Eye Colour is applying the product close to my lashline and smudge it out with a pencil brush.

But.... if you want a thinner line, you can use a liner brush to pick up the product and you will be able to get a much finer line this way.

Once this product goes on the skin, it will remain movable for about 30 seconds. If you let it dry, then it will STAY. After it sets, the only way that you can get rid of it is by using makeup remover.

I really want to show you how amazing this product is. So I conducted a series of tests, in which the Caviar Stick Eye Colour passed with flying colours.
Water test: After putting my arm under running water, nothing moved at all. I then wiped (WIPED!!!) the swatches using a cotton pad, and it still looked untouched.

Rub Test: I then proceeded to rubbing the swatches with my fingers, to the point that my skin turned red and became quite sore. And nothing moved.

Oil Test: I then dabbed cuticle oil all over the swatches, and I proceeded to rub it lightly with my finger. The bottom portion was what the swatches look like at first. I applied more cuticle oil to the top portion of the swatches and continued to rub it quite hardly, and it only smudged ever so slightly.

I really LOVE this product. The texture is really smooth, soft and very creamy, so it glides onto the skin without needing to tug at your lids to dispence product. The product is very pigmented, enabling a solid line to be created with one or two passes. When you first apply it onto the lids, it is very easy to blend out. Once you let it dry, it will completely set and become unmovable, as demonstrated in the experiments.

If I wear this product by itself, it will smudge a little by the 6th or 7th hour. If I apply a powder product over this Caviar Stick Eye Colour to set it, it lasted for about 9 hours on my lids without any smudging. It will probably be able to last even longer, but I don't tend to wear my makeup for that long anyways.

Warning: A lot of me coming up.

As usual, here are some photos of me wearing the product.
Super quick and easy: I applied the Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Smoke on my upper lashline as well as on my outer corner and used a pencil brush to blend it out and create a slight wing for this look.

For this look, I have the Chanel Illusion D'ombre in Mirifique all over my lids as a base colour. Then I applied the Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Smoke on my lashline and blended it out to create a smokey eye look. I then used a liquid eyeliner to line my eyes to create a sharper look.

In this look, I used the Sapphire Caviar Stick Eye Colour on the front half of my upper lashline and Smoke on the back half of my lashline. Then I blended and winged it out with a pencil brush.

I was wearing a few different tones of pink eyeshadow on my lids, then I lined my upper lashline with the Caviar Stick Eye Colour in Cocoa. I used a flat liner brush to do this look instead of applying the product straight onto my lids because I wanted a cleaner line.
