As a result, I was immediately drawn to the Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm in the store when I walked past it. Seriously, "aura", "baby" and "glow"? Etude House sure knew which keywords to include in a product name to make it attractive. I wasn't sure if I want a "glowy" product since I have very oily skin but the sales assistant assured me that it wouldn't make my skin look too shiny or oily, just very natural and youthful looking with a healthy glow.
The next thing I know, I was photographing the Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm in my room.
This product is available in 3 colour selection: #1 Pink Beige, #2 Natural Beige and #3 Sand Beige.
I first purchased #1 Pink Beige as the sales assistant recommended it but it turned out to be too light for me. So I went back and purchased #2 Natural Beige as well.

Product description. |
Product description:
- The Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm contains the Pearl Clear Babyface BB that has a SPF of 42 PA++ and the Nymph Aura Baby Volumer Babyface Glow in a 8:2 ratio.
- Contains Baby Glow Complex that is made up of Argan oil and mucopolysaccharides that will promote skin resilience while providing moisture to the skin.
- The Lumi-light Aura Agent contained in the product will give a natural, transparent and youthful glow to the skin.
How to use:
- Application using the included Aura Air Puff will give a longer lasting and better coverage.
- Application using a foundation brush will give a luminous and sheer finish.
The compact is quite bulky (to accommodate the inner lid) and it is made with lightweight plastic. It has a click-in closure.
The Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm comes with an Aura Air Puff. The blue side of the puff is of a different material to the white side. The blue side is very soft, plush and velvety & it works well to pat on and blend in the Baby Glow Balm. This accompanying puff is also helpful as it can be used to reapply throughout the day.
My only complaint in regards to this puff is that it is EXTREMELY EXTREMELY difficult to wash. Since it is made of 2 different layers with 2 different materials, I find that any residual product left in the puff tend to get caught in between the layers when you are trying to wash it.
#1 PINK BEIGE 핑크 베이지
Pink Beige is a cool toned light beige.
My skin tone is quite light and even so, Pink Beige appears to be unflatteringly pale on me. When I use it all over my face, it is very apparent that my face and neck are of 2 different colours.
However, I do love using Pink Beige to highlight my forehead, high points of my cheeks and my chin. Doing so really helps to brighten my complexion in a very natural manner.
#2 NATURAL BEIGE 내츄럴 베이지
Natural Beige is a light beige with a peachy tone.
Natural Beige has a peachy undertone and it is a better match for my skin, though it can appear a little too warm on my skin.

OVERALL
The Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm is quite good. The texture is very buttery, creamy and smooth (it really feels like you are touching butter when you touch it). It blends and melds into the skin to give a natural and healthy glow. This product is quite emollient so it will be excellent for people with dry skin or when the weather is very cold.
This product has a light coverage and it cannot be built up too much or it will feel too thick on the skin and it can also appear slightly cakey. This product can even out the skin tone and brighten it (depending on which shade you choose) but it would not cover apparent flaws on the skin like under eye dark circles, blemishes and hyper pigmentation spots. Pore coverage is also minimal with this product.
I like to use the Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm on days that I want a very natural look (almost like I am not wearing any base makeup). Since this product really brightens the skin and give it a very skin-like finish, it can really fake the appearance of healthy skin, provided if I conceal other spot and unsightly flaws on my skin. I have oily skin and I think that this product can feel a bit uncomfortably heavy at times, but it would be fine if I set it with a light layer of powder. I find that this product does not really set or dry down completely on its own (could be due to the baby glow complex), so unless you like that haven't-dried-down kinda finish and feel on the skin, I do recommend setting it with powder.
On me, the Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm is not a particularly long lasting product. It typically lasts for about 5-6 hours before I feel compelled to retouch or remove my makeup because once my skin starts to get oily, it can look slightly patchy. However, the first few hours of wear is beautiful!! If I intend to wear this product for a long time, I need to blot and powder over it every so often so that the natural oils from my skin would not disrupt the product.
One thing to note, the Baby Glow Balm has quite a high SPF (SPF 42 PA++) and it contains titanium dioxide so it might cause flashbacks in flash photography. I seldom take photos with flash so I can't tell you that for sure but I was told that applying a powder without SPF over a foundation/ base makeup with SPF can help with reducing flashbacks.
Another thing to note, this product has a florally, baby-soap-ish type fragrance that is still detectable upon application. So people who are sensitive to fragrance might want to veer away from it.
Base: Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm; #1 Pink Beige in the middle portion of my face (forehead, nose bridge, chin and cheeks) and #2 Natural Beige in the outer portion of my face.
I can see lots of people loving the Etude House Nymph Aura Volumer Baby Glow Balm and I can see lots of people disliking it as well. If you are looking into purchasing this product, I hope my review will help you decide if this product is for you.
That's it for this review. See ya~~~

oh this looks intriguing how the have different color swirl.. I am always worried to buy korean base make up as they tend to give 'too dewy' look for my combination skin.. this one looks flawless and radiant on you though!
ReplyDeleteThe swirl is actually made up of 80% bb cream and 20% Nymph Aura Volumer. This one is slightly dewy but not too shiny. I find that the finish is really beautiful if you set it with a light layer of powder.
ReplyDeleteDepending on your preference with base makeup textures, you might find this product too heavy though. Especially if you don't like dewy look/ finish.
The packaging really reminds me of their Any Cushion foundation! The finish looks so flawless.

It looks so gorgeous! :O Ok, yeah I need to get this! :D
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for the lovely review!
Ooh, natural beige looks like it might suit me! Will add this to my wishlist :)
ReplyDeleteI have a similar one from Innisfree, and it's one of the best foundation's I've ever used - I love it!
I have never tried anything from Innisfree before! I need to check their version out ^-^
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for stopping by and for commenting~
ReplyDeleteYes, the packaging is very similar. This product has light- light medium coverage only. I did use a separate concealer to conceal some spots and things on my face. The finish is gorgeous IMO though~~
ReplyDeletethank you for this review! this product reminds me so much of the innisfree melting foundation~ It also leans more compatible to dry skin too and less is definitely more when using this product =)
ReplyDeleteThe packaging is so cute! is this more like a bb cream or a base?
ReplyDeleteà la foliee
In terms of coverage, I think it is similar to what you would expect from a tinted moisturizer/ light coverage bb.
ReplyDeleteI am definitely very curious about the Innisfree one! Would love to see how that one compares to this one if I manage to get my hands on it.
ReplyDeleteI've been curious about this product for so long, thanks so much for writing such a detailed review! ^-^

I am so happy that you liked my post!
ReplyDeleteI haven't tried any of Etude House's products before but keep seeing them around on blogs! This Baby Glow Balm looks so unique, never heard of anything like it. For light coverage I think I would rather a BB cream as it is a little easier to apply than with a puff! The packaging is so cute though :)
ReplyDeleteThere is an Etude House store very close to where I live so I always ended up getting things from them. Totally agree with the puff thing. I always reach for other bb creams instead of this product because I hate washing my puffs so I always don't have clean ones to use.
ReplyDeleteThis product looks very interesting :) The package looks really cute! The coverage looks good and natural! Might try this :) Thank you for the review ;)
ReplyDeleteEtude House Minnie Collection Giveaway
What a beauty, Liz! Thanks for the comprehensive review! :) Never tried Etude House products before except for a BB cream that made me break out :( I'm willing to give them a try again, soon!
ReplyDeleteOh no! Hopefully you have better luck with other Etude House products that you end up trying. It's one of my favorite Korean makeup brands!!
ReplyDeleteHi, mind letting us know what did you use for your undereye? the glittery part! :)
ReplyDeleteThat color was a combination of the gold and champagne beige shade in the Shu Uemura Triplecolor Eye Shadow in Gypsy Brown.
ReplyDeleteCould you list the products used in both makeup looks?
ReplyDeleteIn the first look:
ReplyDeleteEtude House Nymph Aura Baby Glow Balm #1 in the centre of the face & #2 on the outer perimeters
YSL Marrakech Sunset Palette
Canmake Cream Cheek in CL02 on my cheeks & lips
In the 2nd look:
Etude House Nymph Aura Baby Glow Balm #1 in the centre of the face & #2 on the outer perimeters
Shu Uemura triplecolor eyeshadow in Gypsy Brown & Utopia Pink
Shu Uemura Pink Duo blush
Revlon Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain #15 Cherish
Sorry for the late reply!
ReplyDeletei bought the sand beige one cause i feel its the closest to natural but it didint really i kinda looked pink in it and greased. i was just gonna ask if the the other shades would look more yellow and less pink?
ReplyDeleteI have not tried Sand Beige before so I am not sure how it compares to #1 Pink Beige & #2 Natural Beige. I can say for sure that Pink Beige is very light and definitely has a pinkish lean while Natural Beige has a yellow undertone.
ReplyDeleteThe Nymph Aura Balm leaves behind a slight glowing finish/ sheen though. So if you don't like this kind of finish, then maybe this product won't suit you too well.
Let me know if there's anything you want to know. I will be happy to help :)
