I love circle lenses. To me, circle lenses and makeup go hand in hand and I don't think I can ever live (happily [yes, putting in lenses and putting on makeup makes me happy]) without either of these in my life.
I think I started wearing circle lenses about the same time that I started wearing makeup, which is when I was around 17 years old if I remember correctly. I started off by wearing daily disposable ones but that became way too expensive in the long run. I then started exploring other options and I have since tried many 6-month or yearly lenses.
I prefer circle lenses that are towards the natural end of the spectrum. I like ones that look natural but still give subtle enlargement and definition. Also, I am not too fond of lenses that make me look like this--> O.O
I recently tried out the Geo Mari Gold Gray (or grey, my Mac laptop doesn't like it when I type grey even though I already specify that I use Australian spelling). IT IS PERFECT!!
The Geo Mari Gold Series is available in 4 colours: Blue, Violet, Gray & Brown.
AUTHENTICITY
These lenses have a scratchy(?) label at the bottom. |
If you scratch the silver portion of the label, a 20-alphabet authenticity code will be revealed. |
If you then head over to the URL listed on the label (http://geo.fw1860.com), you can enter the code into the field provided to check if your lenses are genuine. |
HOW TO OPEN CONTACT LENS BOTTLE
Just in case you don't already know, I thought I might as well show you how to open a contact lens bottle.
First, locate the arrow marking on the lid. |
Then, lift up the plastic portion of the lid from the direction of the arrow. After that, you should hold the lid and twist to one direction of your choice to peel off the metal portion of the lid. |
However, 9 out of 10 times, it will most likely snap and leave you with this finger cutting hazard. |
If that happens, I suggest using a tweezer to lift up the remaining metal portion and lift the lid off. Easy~ |

WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE ON
P/s: The Geo Mari Gold Gra(e)y lenses are ones that I wore in my recent blog posts HERE, HERE & HERE.
THOUGHTS
I am very much in love with the Geo Mari Gold Gray Lenses. The 14.2mm diameter means that it looks very natural with a subtle enlarging effect. The very thin black outer ring also defines the eyes in a very natural manner without being too stark. In terms of colour, since the grey portion of the lens is semi opaque, it is not going to mask over darker eye colors completely. I find that on my dark brown eyes, it gives a grey tinge and my natural eye color is still somewhat visible. The GENIUS gold specks design in the middle add a sparkle to the eyes that I absolutely love!!
These lenses are also very very comfortable. You cannot feel these lenses when you have them on and I can (probably shouldn't though) wear these lenses for up to 8 hours, sometimes without having to put in eye drops because I don't experience any discomfort or dryness when wearing these.
RETAILER
Disclaimer: I am not affiliated with the retailer that I will be mentioning and I did not receive any compensation to mention this retailer in this blog post.
I am including the retailer's information because I find that it is a reliable distributor of circle lenses and I am satisfied with the product quality as well as service that I received.
The retailer that I purchased the Geo Mari Gold Gray lenses from is eyecandys.com. Here is the link to the lenses if you want to check it out: LINK
The lenses were packaged in a mesh drawstring bag. |
You also get a free lens case with every pair of lenses that you order. The lid of this case is clear so it is especially convenient if you own multiple pairs of lenses because you can see what is in each case.

I love this series too!! I just got the brown one but I haven't opened it yet. I want to try out the blue and violet one too~~ maybe when my grey ones expire.
ReplyDeleteThank you dear!
ReplyDeletei LOVE how natural these looks on you Liz! :D i'm not much of a circle lens person these days. it'd scare people at the office if i wore them lol so much more preferable for casual days out with friends..then again, all my circle lens are more unnatural looking haha! :) looking good as always too liz~ keep in touch

ah, i get you there, that make up and circle lens go hand in hand thing. even if it's the simplest mascara or just foundation/BB cream, i would still use circle lens because without them, i feel like my eyes are just plain naked lol and when i look at myself in the mirror, i'd probably think i look so hobo and all beggar-like without make up and circle lens.
ReplyDeleteoh my, i always thought you're somewhere around the age of, say...like 18 or 19 lol
like you, i only started caring about these kind of stuff when i was 17 which is a year ago. the trigger was japanese (street) fashion haha gotta say thanks to that. and circle lens is like, a must use by japanese models (cough tsubasa masuwaka cough) imo so i thought i had to learn how to properly put something into my eyes :))
ANYWAY.
Geo lenses are comfortable, agreed? haha my first GEO lens was the oh so popular geo princess mimi bambi series whatever the name is (such a long name, really) and they were so comfy i can wear them for hours :) Unlike you, though, i don't mind unnatural circle lens. in fact, i get all sad when the lens don't look obvious in my eyes which is something most brown lens do unless they have really vivid vibrant patterns haha. hence i always pick/prefer vibrant lens with obvious patterns but still not too crazy they make me look like i'm cosplaying~
the marigold looks nice on you, really simple and blends well. then again, it's 14.2 ^^;; but yeah, not something i'd choose for my style :P 15mm is still my precious choice hehe
What's the water content for this btw?
and thanks for briefly describing on how to open the vial bottles! lol i experienced the hand injury last time for that :))
looks pretty good!

The water content for these lenses is 42%
ReplyDeleteI don't like taking pictures when I am not wearing circle lenses & I don't like leaving my house without circle lenses, concealer & eyebrow pencil. It feels so strange somehow. Actually, I used to experiment with lots of different lens style and colour but my friends thought that I look like a frog so ever since, I prefer lenses that look natural . LOL
My favourite lens diameter is 14.5mm!! I don't think I have tried a 15mm one. Maybe I will try some next time :D btw, you won't believe how happy I felt when you said I look 18/19 to you. Thank you for making me day~~~~
Thanks for your comment!

Thank you for stopping by my blog!!!
ReplyDeletenever tried circle lens...but looks so good.....
ReplyDeleteI have been wearing circle lenses for so long & I love them ^-^
ReplyDeletewow you eyes are pretty even though they are monolid. I personally believe that double eyelids or mono eye lids are nothing special; if you know how to carry yourself you are beautiful :) These circle lenses look very natural on you <3
ReplyDeleteYou are so sweet!! Thank you~~
ReplyDeletebtw; have you thought of trying double eyelid tapes I heard people are now undergoing surgeries to get double eyelids. But i would rather get them using double eye lid tapes :D surgeries are so freaking terrible :-/
ReplyDeleteI have used double eyelid tapes (single sided, double sided, fibre type) but they don't work well on my lids since my eyelids are very puffy. That being said, every time I put on double eyelid tapes, I think my eyes look very weird. I think mono lids suit me better :P
ReplyDeleteSome of my friends developed double eyelid after wearing eyelid tape for years and years though. LOL.
yeah agreed! monolid suits you. Afterall God knows better what is good for us :)
ReplyDelete:D Everyone is unique and beautiful in their own way
