Sorta Chinese New Year Blogpost

Hi everyone. Today is the 10th day of the Lunar New Year (a.k.a. Chinese New Year. I think Koreans celebrate the Lunar New Year too but I am not entirely sure) so I hope it's not too late to wish you all. Happy Lunar New Year and have an amazing year of the Dragon.

I originally wanted to dedicate a post to Chinese New Year tradition but it's really nothing very exciting, for my family at least. We just dress up and sit around, eat, entertain guests, eat, visit family, eat... You get the idea.

Instead I decided to show you guys something I anticipate most each year: decorations. Shopping malls are generally very festive during the Chinese New Year period and I am going to show you guys my absolute favourite (and the one I deemed the most blog-worthy). This post was kinda impromptu, I was browsing through photos on my phone and thought it might be interesting.

Tadahhhhh~~~ This was in Pavillion Shopping Centre in Kuala Lumpur. To be honest I kinda went there just to see the decorations because everyone was raving about how great it was. And it was truly majestic.

It was five-storey high and it kinda looked like the Dragon was staring straight at you when you walk in from the main entrance.

On top of that, there is also the United Buddy Bear Exhibition here as well (These bears are quite the superstar, they have been on tour since 2002 promoting peace and harmony).

"We have to get to know each other better ...
... it makes us understand one another better,
trust each other more, and live together more
peacefully."

I really like exhibitions even though I would have enjoyed it more if it were indoors. The weather was hot and stuffy (as usual, unless it's pouring down with rain).

There's loads of them as you can see. I am going to show you my favourite ones.

Korea. I love the colour and the pattern. Plus this bear seemed to be sporting colour eyeliner that I am super into these days. Cute!!

Liberty bear!! Obviously everyone knows which country this bear represents.

Japan's bear. I think it's just so simple and elegant. Pure white with calligraphy and the rising sun.

Ireland. I love his socks.

Respect for all life. The world will be a much better place if can learn to respect, understand and accept each other's differences.

Greece. This one stood out to me because it had a simple colour scheme. Plus I like blue.

France. The detail on this one was incredible. I stared at it for the longest time mesmerized by the amazing details.

Wanna guess which country this bear represents? The cigar was a massive hint.
 Yeap. It's Cuba.

I love this one by Thailand. The bear was covered with letters. I thought this was really meaningful, sending messages out to the world with this bear. I wished I can understand what was written in the letters.

Netherlands bear.

Myanmar. Simple but so beautiful.

Luxembourg. I like art that utilises words in them so this one is definitely one of my top picks. And the colour of course.

Love is universal. Love knows no age, nationality, religion or gender. Share some love everyone.

Once again, HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR and I wish everyone good health and lots of happiness. I will work hard to achieve my dreams and I hope that all of your dreams will come true as well.
